SART COORDINATOR (Sexual Assault Victim Services - RCC)
Victim Assistance Programs – Irvine. F/T, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Must be available for on-call rotation for 24-hour response and emergency calls. Remote work from home available. Must be available to work on-site as needed.
Responsibilities Include:
- Respond to victims of sexual assault and their families as required to mitigate the impact of the victimization and/or the case investigation and court appearance.
- Provide crisis intervention, short-term counseling, referrals, and accompaniment services.
- Work in conjunction with the Supervisor, Program Director, and collaborative partners.
- Lead the development, coordination and implementation of a best practice, evidence-based Sexual Assault Response Team coordinated response protocols throughout Orange County.
- Support the SAVS Management team in researching, developing, and conducting presentations and trainings on sexual assault and various related topics to SART stakeholders, service providers, students and community members.
- Assist in supporting the 24-hour sexual assault crisis hotline and program volunteers.
- Participates in outreach and community connection organizing the support of the Sexual Assault Victim Services Program.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field. Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system and victimology.
- 1-3 years of related experience in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, equivalent social skills, and program administration.
- Experience providing coordination for trainings, community events, educational workshops, agency collaborations, and/or administrative functions.
- Knowledge of program planning, curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
- Knowledge of crime victimization and victim service provision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations.
- Must be available to be on rotation for 24-hour response and emergency calls.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Starting pay range: $24.57 - $25.74 per hour
