VICTIM ADVOCATE
Victim Assistance Programs - Law Enforcement Based Victim Advocacy Unit - Irvine Police Department - F/T. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, Some evenings and weekends required.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide assistance to victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, and elder abuse to mitigate the impact of victimization and/or during the case investigation and court appearance.
- Provide crisis intervention, short-term counseling, referrals and accompaniment services.
- Work in partnership with the District Attorney’s Office and law enforcement.
- Ability to work successfully with collaborative partners.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field.
- Two years of related experience working with people in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, or equivalent social skills.
- Must pass background investigation.
- Complete 48-hour state certified sexual assault counselor training and certified Domestic Violence Counselor training within first six months of employment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Korean preferred.

Pay range: $22.45 - $23.52 per hour
