Victim Advocate (Lamoreaux Justice Center)
Domestic Violence Assistance Programs. Orange, CA. F/T, Monday – Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide assistance to victims of domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders.
- Provide necessary services to assure immediate safety and long-term needs of the client and his/her dependents.
- Work in collaboration with law enforcement, court, and partner agencies.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system, family dynamics, sociological aspects of family violence and victimology.
- 2 years of related experience working with people in a position involving the provision of victim services and/or peer counseling preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations.
- In the first year of employment, must complete training for certification as a Sexual Assault Counselor as mandated by PC13835.10, and training as a certified Domestic Violence Counselor.
- Valid California driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

Starting pay range: $21.38 - $22.45 per hour
