Instructional Designer
VAP – Irvine. F/T, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Remote work from home available.
Responsibilities Include:
- Create impactful curriculum and training materials for the victim services field, including victim advocates, service providers, and other allied professionals.
- Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure that training content meets the needs of the field.
- Design and develop engaging content for a variety of learning formats, including in-person training sessions, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), and e-learning courses.
- Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Work closely with SMEs across the state to keep training materials up-to-date and relevant to the evolving needs of victim service providers.
- Lead design meetings, facilitate SME panels, and conduct thorough research to gather insights and inform content development.
- Assess training effectiveness and make revisions to ensure that all materials are aligned with industry best practices and the latest evidence-based approaches.
- Partner with other team members to integrate feedback, maintain consistency across training modules, and ensure high-quality learning experiences for participants.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, criminal justice, program administration, instructional design, or a related field.
- Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and creating training content for diverse learning formats (e.g., in-person, virtual, e-learning).
- Strong understanding of the victim services field, including familiarity with victimology, trauma-informed practices, and the needs of various victim populations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders, including SMEs, learners, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to understand and respond to the cultural and ethnic diversity of the service population and the unique needs of special populations.
- Ability to travel as required for trainings and collaboration with statewide partners.
Starting pay range: $30.49 - $32.10 per hour
