Victim Advocate - Hybrid (VAP)

VICTIM ADVOCATE (HYBRID)
VAP - Orange. F/T, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm; rotate on-call
(This position will participate in a hybrid work environment.)
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for the provision of assistance to victims of gang related crime to mitigate the impact of victimization.
- May respond to the field on request from law enforcement.
- Will be on rotation for on-call.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, criminal justice or related field and a basic knowledge of the criminal justice system and victimology.
- In the first year of employment must complete victim advocate entry-level training and training for certification as a sexual assault counselor as mandated by PC13835.10.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations.
- Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, satisfactory driving record, and a reliable automobile.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Starting salary range: $22.45 - $23.52 per hour
