Prevention Education Specialist (Sexual Assault Victim Services)

Location: Santa Ana, California

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and conduct presentations and trainings on sexual assault prevention and various related topics

  • Provide on-going education and workshops throughout the community with a focus on local high schools, colleges, universities, and other audiences upon request

  • Participate in outreach and community organizing

  • Prepare and distribute current handouts and materials for prevention education programs

  • Work in conjunction with the prevention team to support the Sexual Assault Victim Services Program

  • Assist with special projects


Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field

  • Advanced knowledge of sexual assault prevention

  • Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system and victimology

  • 1-3 years of related experience in a position, involving the provision of victim services, public presentations, equivalent social skills, and program administration

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to the needs of special populations

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds to transport training materials and equipment to locations

  • Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a satisfactory driving record

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
