On-Call CRT Advocate

Victim Assistance Program - Santa Ana.  On-Call; Variable work schedule.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Respond to victims of crime and their families as required by being present with the victim in the field at the call of law enforcement.

  • Must maintain at least 4 shifts plus one weekend shift per month.

Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field and a thorough knowledge of the criminal justice system and victimology.

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, equivalent social skills, and program administration.

  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills.

  • Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a reliable automobile.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
