Victim Advocate (Victim/Witness Assistance Programs)

Victim/Witness Assistance Programs – West Justice Center –Westminster, F/T, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide assistance to victims of crime and witnesses as required to mitigate the impact of the victimization, case investigation, and/or the court appearance.

Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field. Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system and victimology.

  • 1-2 years of related experience working with people in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, equivalent social skills, and program administration.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail.

  • Effective time-management skills to work under pressure, balance competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations.

  • Valid California driver's license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a satisfactory driving record.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese preferred.
