Mass Victimization Advocate (VAP)

Location: Santa Ana, CA, United States


VAP – Santa Ana, F/T, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, rotating on-call. *Hybrid Work Schedule.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Facilitate and implement response to victims of crimes within Orange County and in other counties and states as called upon by law enforcement or agency management to provide immediate support, assistance and resources to mitigate the impact of the crime.

  • Collaborates with law enforcement and other collaborative partners to improve crime victimization response.

  • Coordinates and participates in the 24-hour on-call team.

  • Position has a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, criminal justice or related field and a basic knowledge of the criminal justice system and victimology.

  • Requires up to two years of related experience working with people in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, equivalent social skills, and program administration.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations.

  • Valid California driver license, reliable vehicle and legally mandated automobile liability insurance.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
