Supervisor (Sexual Assault Victim Services-RCC)

SUPERVISOR (Victim Assistance Programs – Sexual Assault Victim Services – Rape Crisis Center – Santa Ana)

– F/T.  (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm).

Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day operations for Sexual Assault Victim Services Orange County Rape Crisis Center Client Services Team, supervising staff and interns.

  • Respond to victims of sexual assault and their families as required to mitigate the impact of the victimization and/or the case investigation and court appearance.

  • Provide crisis intervention, short term counseling and provide referrals.

  • Work in partnership with law enforcement, forensic nurses, college and university partners in providing crisis intervention, case management and accompaniment services to hospital, court and law enforcement agencies as needed by survivors or sexual violence.

  • Assists in supporting the local Sexual Assault Response Team as well as the Prison Rape Elimination Act victim services for local incarcerated survivors.

  • Provide Community Education on sexual assault victim centered services as requested.

  • Assist with 24 hour rape crisis hotline and responsibilities.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field as well as experience working with people in a human services setting.

  • Knowledge of victims’ rights and criminal justice system, community resources and victimology.

  • 1-3 years of related experience in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, and program administration.

  • Able to work successfully with collaborative work partners.

  • Excellent communication skills, project management proficiency, and proven leadership ability.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations.

  • Valid driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

  • Must be available to be on rotation for 24-hour response and emergency calls.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
