Volunteer Coordinator

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, some evenings and Saturdays

Volunteer Coordinator responsibilities include:

  •  Work in conjunction with the supervisor to recruit, supervise, and train program volunteers and interns

  • Develop a system of recognition, evaluation, and provision of adequate volunteer coverage for the program

  • Maintain contact with volunteers on a regular basis

  • Coordinate monthly meetings and special events

  • Provide general program related clerical work and answer phones

  • Provide resources, referrals, and outreach to the community

  • Prepare weekly/monthly statistical reports

  • Maintain clear, concise, and complete program volunteer records

  • Provide resources, referrals, and outreach to the community

  • Conciliate and mediate as needed

Volunteer Coordinator requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, human services, or related field

  • Successful completion of DRPA Mediation Training

  • Previous experience in volunteer recruitment, training and management, public speaking, and general office administration

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of standard office procedures and proficiency in personal computer applications

  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the diversity of the service population

  • Valid California driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and a satisfactory driving record

  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese preferred
