Counselor II (Collaborative Courts FSP)

Location: Santa Ana, CA, USA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm, must be available for on-call coverage for after-hours emergencies

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Use a strength-based, “whatever-it-takes” approach in the Recovery Model and a wraparound philosophy to conduct initial intakes; develop clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans; provide individual, family, and group counseling; and conduct psycho-educational groups

  • Assist clients, caretakers, and FSP team in goal achievement, implementation of behavior modification plans, and parent education

  • Intervene therapeutically when a consumer is experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties

  • Regular documentation of these services for transitional youth with mental illness ages 5-25, and their families, who are involved in the juvenile justice system

Experience and Skill Requirements include:

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field

  • Possession of a current associate number with BBS (MFT/CSW)

  • 1 year of related counseling experience with children, adolescents, and families

  • Knowledge of theories and techniques of individual, family, and group dynamics, behavioral interventions, substance abuse, crisis intervention, and cognitive behavioral approaches

  • Demonstrate ability to work with multicultural and diverse populations with sensitivity and respect

  • Must be available for on-call coverage for after-hours emergencies

  • Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a satisfactory driving record

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
