Victim Advocate (West Justice Center)

Location: Westminster, CA, United States

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Victim Advocate responsibilities include:

  • Provide assistance to victims of crime and witnesses as required to mitigate the impact of the victimization, case investigation, and/or the court appearance

Victim Advocate requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, or related field

  • Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system and victimology

  • 1-2 years of related experience working with people in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, equivalent social skills, and program administration

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, demanding environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail

  • Effective time-management skills to work under pressure, balance competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations

  • Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a satisfactory driving record

  • Bilingual English/Vietnamese or English/Spanish preferred
