Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator

Location: Huntington Beach, CA, USA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, must be flexible to cover weekends, evenings, fundraisers, outreach, and other special events as needed

Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Educate the community about the shelter mission and services, creating visibility and awareness of the needs of runaway and homeless youth

  • Outreach to youth and parents in low socio-economic neighborhoods and areas with high incidence of runaway youth

  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as they relate to special event fund raising, grant writing, campaign development and public relations

  • Solicit monetary and in-kind donations and represent the program at speaking engagements

  • Develop, update, and maintain social media accounts

  • Provide back-up support to youth shelter operations

Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, marketing, communications or related discipline

  • Experience in fundraising and public speaking

  • Must be flexible to work outreach, community events, fundraisers, and weekend/evening/graveyard shifts as needed

  • Valid California driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and a satisfactory driving record

  • Experience working with at-risk youth (preferred)

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
