Victim Advocate (Harbor Justice Center)

Location: Newport Beach, California, United States

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Victim Advocate responsibilities include:

  • Provide assistance to victims of crime and witnesses as required to mitigate the impact of the victimization, case investigation, and/or the court appearance


Victim Advocate requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field

  • Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system and victimology

  • Up to two years of related experience working with people in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, equivalent social skills, and program administration

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills

  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and to be sensitive to the needs of special populations

  • Valid California driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and a satisfactory driving record

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
