Mass Victimization Advocate

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, On-Call rotation for 24-hour and response and emergency calls

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate response to victims of crimes within Orange County and in other counties and states as called upon by law enforcement or agency management

  • Provide immediate support, assistance and resources to mitigate the impact of victimization

  • Work in collaboration with law enforcement, and partner agencies to improve crime victimization response

  • Coordinate and participate in 24-hour-on-call team

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral science, criminal justice, or related field

  • Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system, and victimology

  • 2 years of related experience in a position involving the provision of victim services, peer counseling, equivalent social skills, and program administration

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural/ethnic diversity of the service population and the needs of special populations

  • Must be available to be on rotation for 24-hour response and emergency calls

  • Valid California driver’s license, liability insurance meeting minimum state requirements, and a satisfactory driving record

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
